Sights set on supplying chemicals and construction materials to the oilsands

Athabasca Minerals Inc. is a new mineral exploration company formed in 2006 with its sights set on becoming a major supplier of industrial minerals to the oil rich Fort McMurray region in northeast Alberta, Canada.

The Company holds permits for more than 534,000 hectares (1.353 million acres) of land in the region and has been prospecting the potential of a variety of industrial minerals including salt, silica sand, gypsum and limestone, as well as (in the Birch Mountains north of Fort McMurray) diamonds.

Independent from its mineral exploration activities, the Company is also exploring the potential of sand and gravel projects throughout northern Alberta. These activities include gravel pit management, new gravel pit development, and the acquisition of aggregates operations.

The Company has assembled a management team with combined experience totalling 170 years to oversee operations. Additionally, members of the management team have been operating sand and gravel pits in the Fort McMurray area since 1998.
